Gula Melaka

I love this kuih-muih so much, today I tried using gula melaka instead of pandan juice! Is yummy & delicious as usual and it's very easy to make it too! 


Ingredients 材料
200g white sago 沙谷米 200克
100g gula melaka (I only used 80g) 椰糖 100克 (我只用80克)
3pcs pandan leave 班兰叶/香兰叶 3片
30ml water 清水 30毫升
150g shredded coconut 椰丝 150克
1/8 tsp salt 盐 1/8汤匙
*steam shredded coconut with salt for 10mins. 将盐加入椰丝蒸10分钟*




Method 做法:

Rinse and soak sago in water for 30mins. Drain well
将沙谷米清洗后以清水浸30分钟。拧干

Boil gula melaka, pandan leave and water together until gula melaka until dissolved. Filter the gula melaka syrup.
将椰糖,班兰叶和水一起煮至椰糖融化。过滤椰糖浆。


Mix sago and gula melaka syrup together with gentle. Stir well
将沙谷米和椰糖浆轻轻拌搅。

Grease mould with oil. Pour the mixed into and steam for 30mins with middle heat.
将搅拌好的沙谷米倒进已抹上油的模型,中火蒸30分钟。

Place it cool for awhile before cut. If too watery, put it into refrigerator for an hour.
待凉后切。如水分太多,将它放入冰箱一小时。

Cut the sago with a knife(grease with oil) or using spoon into small pieces and coat with shredded coconut. 
用刀(抹上油)或汤匙将沙谷米切成小块及撒上椰丝。
